Abstract:
Recoil also called knockback or kickback is the backward momentum of a gun when it is discharged.
The recoil caused by the gun exactly balances the forward momentum of the projectile and exhaust gasses according
to Newton's third law. The Recoil effect of the gun has many negative impacts like loss of accuracy of the bullet,
long time to take aim to the shoot again at the same spot and it might cause serious injury to the shooter. This recoil
reduction will be very helpful for the soldiers as the accuracy of the bullet, thereby saving ammunition for further
attacks. The Gas from the cartridges comes out before the bullet exits the barrel and continues to come out even after
the bullet exits the barrel. If we are able to minimize the air that comes out of the barrel then we can reduce the
recoil of the gun. In addition, it has been found out that, the gas coming out of the barrel will create a vacuum like
condition inside the barrel as soon as the gas exits the barrel. Since a vacuum like condition is created, the pressure
difference inside and outside the barrel will cause the air from outside the barrel to rush into the barrel. These gases
amount close to 50% of the recoil of the guns. Hence by reducing or cushioning the effect of incoming air can
reduce the recoil of the gun systems. The ports can be made leading up to the barrel, which has to open exactly at the
same time when the bullet leaves the barrel. Hence, if these ports can open and close at the required times, then the
vacuum conditions will not prevail inside the barrel, thereby reducing the intensity of the barrel. This sort of opening
and closing of the ports can be timed by attaching the port openings to the trigger mechanism is the content of this
