The Kuttiyadi power generation scheme consists of 6 power
generation units with total installed capacity of 225MW. Three units
were installed in 1971 by the Fuji Electric Japan, it uses mechanical
governing systems. In 2001 another unit was installed by GE Canada,
which uses PLC controlled governing system. The next two units were
installed by BHEL India in 2010 and it uses distributed computing
system. It contains dedicated microprocessors and uses GUI (Graphics
User Interface) software for direct control and monitoring.
Simulation of the systems are done to study their performance
characteristics. In this project we are designing a SIMULINK model of
the governing systems installed by BHEL, to obtain the responses of the system in different conditions |
