dc.description.abstract | There are various methods for controlling the speed of a DC motor. PWM technique is one of the most advanced and cost effective method .It can be established using advanced Digital Signal Processor. The digital signal processor (Microchip’s dspic30F2010) furnished with dedicated motor control PWM module is utilized to drive the power driving circuitry to get perfect duty cycle and frequency control. In this working demo the controller is designed for low voltage type (12V) DC motor and can easily convert to higher voltage ranges by increasing the rated capacities of the power driving circuitries. MOSFETs are used as switching device, in the power driving circuitry. Overload protection can be achieved by using current shunt and feedback circuitry. The built in Analog to digital converter of the DSP samples the circuit’s current and switches off the driving circuit if overload situation arise. A remote control on the speed and the direction of the motor is established using a wireless remote control working at the frequency of 2.4GHz. This bidirectional communication ranges up to 1KM and hence a remote monitoring of speed and direction is also possible, if a speed feedback circuitry is added in addition as a futuristic of this project The remote control is connected to a personal computer with a GUI through which the operator can change the speed and direction. | en_US |
